This was one of the funnest jobs I’ve ever designed. The Homeowners were so liberal with their use of color, and I love the way it turned out!
One of the best Shrubs or Ground Covers for California Gardens. Ceanothus (the botanical name) is native to many areas of the west coast. The ground cover version (Ceanothus horizontalis) is one of my favorites. It has these brilliant blue flowers, and shiny, strong leaves. But beware, it doesn’t like too much water! Plant it with other drought tolerant perennials, such as Salvia, New Zealand Flax, and Jerusalem Sage for a colorful California Garden!
We just started this new job in San Clemente last week. Hopefully we can make this….(tiny back yard)

This is an awesome fountain we built at the Miller Residence in Irvine, Ca. This job was so much fun for me, because the homeowner LOVED color, and was very trusting in letting me use all kinds of cool tiles

We finally finished this job in May of this year (2011) and it was a long time coming!! I started with the Brennans on a design quite some time ago, but the city of Laguna Beach made us jump through HURDLES like you wouldn’t believe! So needless to say, this was NOT like any other construction job out there, but as you can see by the finished product, well worth the wait!!
Our client did all of her own pillows and furniture – isn’t she awesome?!
