We designed this yard in about 2006. We have had some pictures of this job on our website, but we finally just went back and took some nicer pictures. The BEST family lives here, and they love their yard! They entertain outdoors all the time, for their teenage and “tween” kids. The Pool and Spa are on one side of the yard, while the Outdoor Room is on the other, connected to the house by “nano” doors. In the center of the yard, the BBQ/Bar is the social spot, connecting the two spaces. There is a Buffet Counter in the dining area, used for serving and storage. Mr. and Mrs. Lee say that when they entertain, the kids are often hanging out in the pool area, while the adults are lounging in front of the fireplace or at the table. The adults can have their space, while still keeping an eye on the kids.
Their goal is like ours: We want our kids (and their friends) to hang out at OUR house!
